1. Bald Eagles

These magnificent birds can be seen throughout the valley, often perched high in towering cottonwoods or circling above rivers searching for salmon. During the fall salmon run, dozens of eagles may gather along the riverbanks, creating incredible opportunities for wildlife photography.
For many visitors, seeing so many eagles in one place is an experience they’ll never forget.
2. Black Bears
While grizzly bears receive most of the attention, Bella Coola is also home to a healthy population of black bears.
During the spring and early summer months, black bears are seen almost as frequently as grizzlies as they feed on fresh vegetation, berries, and insects. As salmon begin spawning later in the season, grizzly bears become the dominant species along the most productive rivers, making black bear sightings less common in those areas.
Seeing both species during the same trip is not unusual.
3. Moose
