Just a couple dreamers...
Craving a remote getaway that we could share with others, our search for paradise had begun. When we arrived at the future camp in 2019 it was love at first sight and everything fell into place. We built everything ourselves, with the help of family and friends. Over the next year of hiccups we opened in August 2020 - experiencing everything life could possibly throw our way on this journey.

Owners & Operators
Jen & Bobby Sherlock
Owners, operators, designers and over all handy-folk, they love to do it all. Jen & Bobby were previously in Tofino where they worked in the tourism industry for the past ten years.
Jen owns Caravan Beach Shop, a popular boutique that has thrived since 2012. Bobby owned and operated Wild Pacific Expeditions, a marine based expedition company specializing in custom adventures on the West Coast of B.C. Together they have combined their passions to create Firvale Wilderness Camp.

How it started
In 2019, blissfully unaware of the pandemic looming, Bobby and Jen searched Vancouver Island for the perfect spot for their glamping resort. With little luck finding something remote yet accessible Bobby had one place he knew of from guiding that may work. After some convincing they set out for the Bella Coola Valley, in traditional Nuxalk Territory, where they found the future camp in Firvale. Then the work began...
Building a dream
Construction
The wife + husband team ,with the help of friends and family, began the build with a rustic retreat in mind. The cabins and lodge consumed most of 2019, with the domes arriving in spring 2020. Some tears, laughs and plenty of sweat later the resort was ready for guests (but far from finished) in August 2020. We have continued to add to our little slice of paradise always looking for the next addition, keeping busy with new ideas and guest amenities.

How it's going
What a journey its been so far. With the pandemic in the rear view we are thrilled to continue on this wild ride and are setting our sights on the future. We cannot thank the community enough for the support we have received and partnerships we've built together. It's so exciting to watch new businesses thrive and grow. We volunteer our time to Bella Coola Valley Tourism, helping sustainable growth in the tourism industry to benefit the community.
